Does anyone know of any off the shelf business directly themes / add ons that would allow me to have a website which allows businesses to create their own pages/profiles (subject to being authorised before going live)

Whilst also allowing customers to search for the businesses by post code and see the results on a map and/or list?

I'm assuming it needs some sort of built in CRM, but It doesn't need to be fancy. It just needs business name, business address, contact number/email and website. Then allow customers to search via post code.

marble_pars. I did check out their showcase. The second site is a UK site, http://www.visitmidlothian.org.uk/. I stuck that into Google Page Speed Insight and it came back with a 0. Never seen a score that low. It may be that this site wasn't configured correctly so I checked a couple of other examples they provided and ran into several problems.

Not saying this is a bad plugin. It may be excellent, but may be worth a bit of research first. Strange that they've put less than perfect sites in their showcase.

S. Isaac, have you tried browsing the site of the plugin I mentioned to see if they've got any showcase examples?

WP Geo Directory, pretty much without a doubt is the best off the shelf solution.

+1 for Geo directory plugin. I have bought many "off the shelf" themes, plugins but this is the one that beats them all. I used The7 theme and Divi too for the styling and with a mid range shared host gtmetrix always gave a pagespeed of 95+

Thanks. Half of that was like another language to me though.

Do you have a link to an site it's running on I could see? (PM would be fine if you don't want to or are not allowed to post publicly).

sorry :)

so you have WordPress as your CMS, you need to have it on a half decent hosting provider like Siteground(amazing for the price), You will need to buy a theme like "The7" or "Divi" (name of the themes) so you have the customisability but i prefer "The7", then install GeoDirectory plugin (core) and you can start to set up a basic directory website. For more features you will need to subscribe at WP geo directory to have all the add-ons and support from the creators in the forum (my experience is that they help tons for their customers, inc. me too). If you spend most of your day with it or ask anyone with knowledge it can be up and running in a few day/few weeks if you want to be super picky on what is where and how and so on :)

Would be happy to show you my site but it has been moved to a subdomain and need to rearrange everything accordingly. If it is finished this week i am happy to send you a link in PM

ps: i have purchased Premiumpress,Appthemes, most themes on Themeforset for directory, some other plugins been tested and this is the one that beats them all.
