Ive just bought a Sam4s touch screen till from a cafe that closed down.

Now as i dont have the samstock software to load onto my pc to run it, i need to get a program for it.

Does anyone have any reccomendations or suggestions, its for a busy baguette bar so it needs to be fairly quick and easy to use.

I dont have a huge budget for ir as i need to see if its what we need to do the job

A quick search for 'open source epos software' on google has thrown up quite a few results so if they make open source epos software these days half way as good as they make open source cms software then you might be on to a winner.

If its an sps2000, it has till software loaded and can link to back-office, which is samstock. You do not NEED to have samstock, but it can turn it into a full system.

The SPS2000 will not run other till software.

My company sells the Microsoft EPOS products RMS and POS 2009.

We don't deal with cafe systems, but I believe POS 2009 would be great for a coffee shop setup. Nice touch screen UI, and the reporting on things like margin is really simple to use. RMS actually has more features and is a little cheaper, but POS is a doddle to use.

I would be careful about buying an EPOS system on price, if the setup isn't right you won't get things like margin analysis and stock aging - and this to me is the point of a POS system.
