I've had a BT business internet package - and the contract expires in May - my second, started in 2014. They've always been pretty useless, but as they also host one of my websites, and a long held email address tied to that domain - I've put up with paying quite over the odds for it. Recently it's started dropping connections on wi-fi, although the hardwired network is fine. During the chat today, that may/may not have cured it, they mentioned that if I resign for two more years, then if it's the router that is faulty (it's ancient at 4 yrs) then I get a free one. I asked if this means that if I don't resign then I have to pay for a router replacement and they said yes. I assumed like a phone, that the router was part of the package, but apparently it's mine, and out of warranty. In the T&Cs somewhere. If I don't re-sign, the price also increases. Clearly it's time to go, so here comes the question.
Is there actually any broadband supplier with decent speed, decent reliability and a sensible price for just the single line, with phone. I'm not looking for the cheapest deal - but just a deal with somebody who isn't dodgy. In my area it's fibre to the cabinet not fibre all the way to me! BT's attitude just stinks - clearly my £600+ a year is not enough to matter.
