Im looking to move or get a alternative to paypal and the only option are Braintree, Stripe, till we grow.
We cant get a merchants account

Braintree, Stripe User experience, have you used either ?

If you have used them what do you think, please share.
Ive sent emails 3days ago to both and still waiting for a reply

Both are lacking a key item ( a way to contact them outside email )
I dont like Braintree mostly due to the fact paypal owns it and they sold out just after Google recommended them, But I would still like to know how they are to deal with.

Hi,

Braintree and Stripe can be chosen by the merchants who accept payments online and their processing volume is not high or they do not have any prior processing history. The functionality they suggest is approximately the same. They also allow accepting payments in different currencies. They do not have monthly fee, only the fee per transaction.

As for their alternatives, you may have a look at Sage Pay. The services they suggest are alike to the ones Braintree and Stripe offer. This solution can be used by merchants who are located in the UK. Their services are a little bit more expensive because they charge both monthly fee and per transaction fee.

If you need some more information about different payment options you can check out Paylosophy. There you can find articles describing different payment concepts which might help you to make up your mind or there you can ask questions if you have any.

If you want to accept payments online you will have to get a merchant account. It just looks like you do not need a merchant account with PayPal and Stripe. Technically, you will get a merchant account, because you will have to submit all the necessary information. So if you cannot get a merchant account due to some reasons it is most likely that you will not be able to get it through PayPal, Stripe or any other payment service.

We have been using Braintree Payments for around a year. The service is very good- you can email them any time and they come back with a nice personal answer within a few hours. The telephone support is also very good.

I was chatting with a rep after the buyout and they explained that they are still retaining their existing operations team (customer support etc)- so no changes on the horizon. That said- I suppose these things can change in a flash.

I still continue to be impressed with the overall service and would happily recommend them.

Hope this helps

My eCommerce site is built on wordpress woocommerce and I use stripe. Very easy integration and seamless transaction for customers.

Stripe is fantastic for users and developers alike, I can highly recommend using it.

The payment processing on Stripe is much quicker and easier than alternatives and it's kept on one page.

Also, they take care of credit card details so you can do away with the legal checks (PCI Compliance) that are required if you're taking card details.

Another vote here for Stripe. We use this ourselves but also have a few clients using it.

Really easy to to set-up and straight forward for customers to use. We've had no problems at all.

I integrated stripe with woocommerce too, piece of cake. Not used much but when it is it just works.

We use Stripe as our payment solution and we love it. It was really, really simple to set up, no compliance issues, has a great dashboard to keep track of payments and has very reasonable fees. After setting up a number of WooCommerce sites for clients which needed to integrate with WorldPay I would say that Stripe is an order of magnitude better in terms of usability.

Another vote for Stripe. Never unenderstimate how much time you will save by having a reliable solution - also look at baremetrics for dashboards that integrate.

edited for typo..
