Best way to pay partners without making them employees?

Hi
I am a talk-therapist and due to an excess of clients, I will be working with some partner therapists in the near future.

These are therapists that may or may not be registered as sole traders.

My questions are:

• How can I pay them money per hour for their services without them being my employees?
• Can I do this?
• What kind of contract do I need?
• Standard partnership contract?
• How should I write it down in my accounts?

I am not keen on having employees, nor can I afford it, I just need to know what is the best way to pay them legally.

Ask them to invoice you for the work they do, but make sure that you don't completely control when & how they do that work and it is a good idea to know that they are also invoicing others as well.

I might be wrong but has anyone actually been successfully "done" under that legislation about having most of your invoicing through one company?

Thank you for the prompt reply. But could you go a bit more in-depth into what you mean? I just recently registered as self-employed and am a bit lost.

What do you mean on control when and how they work and why is important that they're also invoicing others?

And also importantly, do they need to be self employed themselves, or for example, any individual person can invoice someone else by just making a receipt? What if they're employed full time by someone else -say, in a different profession- and they do therapy on the side?
