B & B Advice on information leaflets/packs

Hi all.

Does anyone have any experience in the hotel/accommodation/holiday let etc. industry? We are starting our own B & B and are looking at local businesses to promote within the hallway (leaflets etc). I thought the local tourism/visitor centre would be quite helpful but they're not. Does anyone have any advice on the collation of leaflets/packs as it looks like we may have to contact individual attractions for their leaflets and I thought there may be a 'hub' that would supply a mixture business/attraction leaflets to the accommodation/hotel trade? Thanks for any advice!

I am surprised your tourism office is not being helpful. I run an Airbnb and regularly drop into them and pick up a range of leaflets for local attractions.

Most areas will have a local tourism association. Have you checked to see if there is one in your area?

I have some experience from the point of view of a tourist attraction.

We do a mixture of sending our leaflets direct to b & b’s and hotels and also to a local leaflet distribution company where they end up in other attractions and bigger hotels.

We often send B and B owners vouchers for a free ‘familiarisation’ visit and even have deals with some whereby they sell tickets to our attraction at the full price and we then charge them a discounted rate so they can make some money sending their visitors to us.

So it might be worth contacting some of the businesses direct as they will certainly send you leaflets but might be up for some kind of deal to send your customers their way.

Many thanks for both of your replies! The locals tourist board just tells us to collect some (not in bulk) form their services! I thought there may be packs given out to local accommodation businesses but I think I will just do my own gathering and contacting! Thanks again

We work along businesses in the tourist industry and I'm pretty sure there are agents or small businesses that put these point of sale packs in B&B lobbies/hallways. Most of our clients have them. Cant you ask or call in some local B&Bs, shops, restaurants. Most tourist outlets have them and then contact the firm.
