Has anybody had any success at all with automated video submitters or video syndication services?

I've tried a few and none have offered the right solution. Does any have any evidence they are worth using or can show me a case study that shows ROI?

We've used Tubemogul and a few in the past - I've never been fully happy with it for a few reasons.
1) You have to add the same info/tag's across all sites - The whole point of TM is you're able to upload in one go but I've often found myself going back and tweeking on the different sites.
2) Lets face it YouTube is pretty much the best site - Vimeo have caught up recently and added some awesome features but in terms of getting your video found from searchs YT wins hands down.

The bottom line for ethical and natural SEO means no "automated" services of any sorts. No search engine allows or supports such acts as they are considered tricking the algorithm. Also the results are not long lasting at all. As it is said, slow and steady wins the race, go for moderate link building tactics with a natural touch.

Exactly, the text you can enter doesn't suffice for all sites, and that's if it manages to upload to them all the first place.

Have you tried Traffic Geyser? I found the same problems apply, but often to a worse extent.

We've upload several hundred video news items in the last year and, whilst I agree the optimum benefits will 'theoretically' accrue from manually uploading to the various sites, you have to balance that against the extra time it takes.

We find it is really useful to use an automated upload service. It's a bit harsh to call it 'unethical SEO'. It's not quite the same as duplicate content on two websites. We see some of the videos, with exactly the same description and titles, sitting side by side on the front page of Google, one perhaps from youtube, the other from metacafe. No disadvantage we can see. Haven't seen any differences in views between videos uploaded with unique descriptions and those with cloned descriptions.

As our news videos are deemed 'commercial content' by tubemogul, we have to pay for the service and to be honest we can get the same job done cheaper by services like heyspread.

I agree, I don't think that it is unethical. It's a legitimate technique, I've just always had bad experiences and found the programs pretty unreliable

Actually whilst we're on the topic does anyone use any syndication/seeding systems.

Our own videos are YouTube only (as we're on Partnership) so apart from the usal sumbitting to various blogs does anyone have any tips/tricks or systems in place for seeding?

Ta,
