Hi I came accross your forum when looking up Atherton Corporate and found a previous chain. Our MD/previous employer has just done this with them and from looking through old paperwork he did it with them two years ago also. This time we knew as we had to pay their invoices just before it happened which were a total of £20K (split approx. £6,500 and £13,500) as employees of the previous company we have received a letter from our 'new owner' saying we have to return home and the business will cease trading until a new lease is negotiated with the landlord. It is a very long and complicated story but we know from the landlord this won't happen (Landlord has thankfully taken pity on us as employees and keeping us up to date) Our previous MD has been taking money from the company for 'expenses' probably totalling approx. £200K over the last 6 months. We think he also did the deal with Atherton to avoid paying out redundancy (which he is also trying to include himself in!) Is there anybody we can go to, to report these financial irregularities to ? His wife also came and removed all of the cash from the safe. Personally I am appalled and angry at how he has behave as an officer of the company. He has used it as his own cashmachine, when it is the companies and has treated staff like idiots. The 'new owner' currently has 66 interests in other companies so I suspect that is what they do ... Any help on reporting our previous employer/company director would be appreciated

I would be of a benefit to you here if you just stick to the actual legal facts
It is not important what else the director is doing This is your opinion only and he is not here to offer his view.
I have seen a lot of this over the years and it normally boils to a person not getting what they wanted rather than an employer acting illegally
So how can this forum help you?
Forget about stitching up the director this never happens

Same, my eyes are too old to decode that much text in one go!
I think the Op is an ex employee

His ex employer sold out to one of these sell us your bankrupt company people, who then got rid of the employees without redundancy or anything else.

    I think.
