a bit about us...
we set up other mini eco businesses in the form of party planners to sell our handmade eco 100% natural products. we attend green shows and lpm's where we give out plenty of info on chemical free living and our website is also packed with info. we do free assemblies in schools and hold eco competitions the next one will be launching the eco warrior e magazine in june. all of our product packaging is recycled, recycable or biodegradeable.im just looking for recycled glass product bottles and we'd be completely recycled packaging. we operate on 100% renewable electricity and we use second hand furniture etc as much as possible.
we make 100% natural skincare, baby care (including a fab replacement for wet wipes), cleaning, eco jewellery, hand blended incense, a unique incense stove to replace charcoal burning and other homeware products. One thing i try hard to do is to create multi purose products such as our mind and body oils, which are formulated for the bath, body lotion or massage oil or our soapnut cxleaner which cleans, dishwashes, handwashes, car windscreen washer and on!
i buy fairly traded or local ingredients as much as possible but would love to find a more local supply for herbs and essential oil(wales). We hold local courses and online courses in holistic therapies that are affordable to all and another side to the business is green power saving computers and green computer business service contracts accomplished by remote assistance, turning down power settings etc. yes we are reaaaaaaly busy...
ok so that was more than a bit but hey i didnt waste any paper!
our website is having a major overhall so find us from monday on treehuggaz do co do uk or dot com!!!

Hi all

I'm still quite new on here :)
I own a textile recycling company, we collect used clothing, shoes and textiles from all over the country (door to door collections, charity collections, clothing banks) we are just setting up our school collections supporting World Vision and raising funds for schools.
We sort and grade approx 10 ton of textiles per week good quality clothing, shoes and textiles are sent to Eastern Europe & Africa and the really bad stuff is recycled and used for mattress filling, insulation etc.
Everything we get is recycled including plastic collection bags, we do not put anything in to land fills

Hi My name's Mike

I publish a site :low emission cars.co.uk
promoting more environmentally-friendly cars.

There is great interest in this area, although recently people are questioning about whether car manufacturers are delivering on the promise of cutting down on CO2 emissions. That we need to drastically reduce harmful car emissions is probably universally accepted now. But can you be kind to your pocket as well as the planet. We think so.

One way to 'kick the metal' and find out for yourself is to visit the Live!2008
motor show in Liverpool on 12th June 2008. Experience the current and best of class low emission cars. Green motoring can
Save money on petrol and diesel

Save money on road tax

Save money on company car tax
Save money on running your vehicle fleet
Reduce your CO2 emissions

10am-4pm, Thursday 12th June 2008, Liverpool

I am in the stages of completing a site called Environment East for the UKCEED and Centre for Sustainable Eng and which is aimed at companies working in the environmental and eco innovation industries, primarily in the East of England.

Already a fair amount of information and news but will also shortly be including events and jobs in the area as well as giving companies the opportunity to showcase their own products where applicable, publicise their own news through the site etc.

Should be a good resource for the region. :)

Hello,

Here is my green contribution. If we all switch to a green energy supplier, that will help! And switching is easy!

Green energy may even cost the same compared to what you pay now! But look at the green ratings. A very green tariff may cost a bit more. Try looking at "electricity only" prices so you see all the smaller suppliers that we help too.

How much CO2 could you save if you switched?

Thanks :),
Richard

My name is Mark, and i make furniture from reclaimed/recycled wood.
The help i would like is for someone to advice me or point me in the right direction as to how to get wood/timber and tonnes of it to me here in wales from in and around London.
I have been asked so many times if i could collect but at this time i have no vehicle to collect this much.
so any help, in a way to collect this wood and of course the cheapest{or free LOL} and greenest way.
Would be great

Your Conservation

Hi Everyone,

My company YourConservation.com now offers a free listing option, so it would be great to have as many of you list your green, eco friendly and sustainable business, organisations and charities on there as possible. Got loads of great developments planned for the site and have been flyering, emailing and phoning like mad to get the name out there, but been great fun.

I look forward to welcoming you to YourConservation.

Cheers

Luke

Well, I think it will be rather difficult for you to find somebody to deliver it to you for free, if already a supplier of this wood is not keen to do it for free.
I could try to arrange Carbon Free Delivery for you, but I would need more details, at least how much of wood have you got, is it in some pieces, maximum dimensions etc.

I have launched a free business waste management website today, it can be viwed here and I am hoping to raise awareness and get as many businesses involved as I can.

I find this website a great source of information and hope that my site can become a regular part of some of the users on here with their waste management regime, in turn benefit our environment with less industrial waste.

Any opinions and feedback regarding the site would be gratefully recieved, thank you.

In our field it is not easy to be a wholly green company, but we offer users the oppurtunitiy to "Display Green products only" when ordering on our website.

This is our first effort towards being a 'Green bizz', but everything counts eh?

check our site if you're interested, link should be in my sig! If not it's www [dot] easycrane [dot] co [dot] uk. Thanks!

(I always make sure to turn lights off when I'm not in the kitchen / bathroom at work, that counts as well right :p)

(and we also recycle of course)

Hi All
Our Business is a multi-faceted creative enterprise, we create greetings cards, invitations etc from reused materials and 100% recycled card and paper, we also create unique paintings on various materials (from canvas to tin foil) using a variety of mediums (from watercolour to emulsion), we also create hand carved decorative pieces using mainly driftwood collected from local beaches...and if that didnt keep us busy enough lol... we have also produced six books aimed at the special needs students within the education sector, the books are currently with a literary agent who is seeking a publisher for us. On our time off (when there is a rare occasion to have time off) im usually here browsing for new ideas and chatting with likeminded people :)

Hi,
I have just launched a new networking group for ethical/green/social enterprises in the midlands. There seems to be groups like this in London but not for those of us based in the midlands.

If you are based in central England and are interested in connecting with other like minded businesses in the area, please join us. We are hoping to organise some socials and get togethers and members will be able to keep up to date with regional news, events and other related info.

To join the group you can go to facebook and search groups for 'Green and Ethical Networking in the Midlands'

See you there!
Kate

I'm Kaz, the Director from Karma Trading Co., which was established in January 2008.
We are dedicated to promoting the necessity of Fair Trade Standards, in the workplace and at home, and not just in the UK.

We run a secure online shop and also have an active diary of outdoor events where we will be exhibiting our products and getting our message out there. We always welcome all customers old and new and look forward to meeting anyone who can make it down to see us!

This is my first business and it has been built from the ground up. I am hoping to gain some valuable advice from the forums and maybe contribute some of my knowledge back.

Thanks for reading,

Regards, Kaz.
