Are Games Consoles Deductible?

Strange thread I guess.

Anyway, I run a couple of gaming websites, I have the support of publishers which is great. They send me review code every so often. The only problem is, they are now starting to send code for consoles that I don't have.

Now, I can easily solve this situation and make more money by purchasing games consoles. Now, I want to know if this is something I can put against the business? Crazy I know, but this is a legitimate question.

It is slightly odd since this could be deemed as for personal usage, even though I am using to boost my business up!

Any helpful advice would be great.

I would imagine if you use these consoles for business use you could claim for them as a business expense.

A lot of people start businesses which stem from hobbies etc.

Look at it this way if a woman buys makeup for her shop could that be deemed to be for personal use??

Just make sure you have invoices make out in your business name, i don't think you'll have a problem ;)

Sure, being games console doesn't make a difference really. Same rule as for other expenses. If you can demonstrate that it's used wholly and exclusively in the course of business then it's a legitimate expense.

Agreed with the above. However, as with other expenses, you should deduct for personal usage should there be any.

There will be very little personal usage thankfully. It will be sticking around in the office, which means nobody will be playing it without 'reviewing' games.
