Any T-Shirt Printers Here?

Hi,

As you probably guessed from my user ID and my signature, I'm in the t-shirt printing business. I figured it would be a good idea to look for others in the industry so we can procrastinate together by sharing ideas on how to make the most of the quiet season that is about to hit us!

So if there's anyone out there with a vinyl cutter & a heat press, please feel free to chime in and we'll start our own little thread!

We used to do a bit but refuse these days as I hate it. Weeding and all that stuff is a thankless task and even though I don't do it myself it is just to time consuming. When they make a cost effective, cheap, easy to use DTG printer that can do high volume I might get back into it...... but I guess everyone else would jump on it as well.

Depends on what prices you're charging. Lots of t-shirt printing shops charging around £3-£5 for a t-shirt with a vinyl print when really they should be charging more like £12+. I reckon it's definitely worth doing...

I always supply wholesale/ trade so on the low end of your price brackets. We used to do a fair bit before but it was a case of either get into it properly or pull the plug. The latter was more appealing as we would have had relabeling issues and packaging that customers always wanted.

Ah I see what you're saying. I used to cater mainly to trade but found much more profit in the stag & hen market, and one-offs/personalized hoodies etc. So I'm trading from City Centre locations where I get plenty of passing trade, rather than a unit on an ind estate.

Still get a good number of trade customers though - mainly smaller business who want small runs doing. Good to have this mix of customers because it keeps the business ticking over in the quieter months.

Another printer here. We do a bit of vinyl but mainly screen-printing and lots of DTG.

Looking at investing in DTG in the new year probably at the P&P Show.
