Hi everyone

I've just put a content checking tool into "beta testing" and would love to get some feedback on any aspect of the site and service as it stands so far. Its still very much a developing thing!

contentinspector.com

So please go ahead and have a look - I have my hard hat firmly on so be as brutally honest/constructive as you like!

Cheers!

It asks me to register so that's as far as I got.

When the button says to 'scan now' I expected to add my URL and get the results. Why do I need to register? All the other automated tools just get on with the review without registration.

Why is keyword density top of the list? This hasn't been important for yonks.

Thanks Fisicx - registration is needed because its not a one-off scan. Instead it will keep checking and updating results and uptime so a login is needed.

Keyword Density is a bit old hat, and you're right it shouldn't be a leader, but it can still be handy to get the gist of a subject.

Give me the initial scan and then suggest registration for regular reviews.

I've just registered to test the system and the email took a couple of minutes to arrive. You need to fix this as people just won't bother if it's not immediate.

I've now had a site checked and it's OK but not that helpful. Having to hover to see the tips is a real pain (and useless on my phone). It would be much better to show me all the comments so I can scan and see the quick fixes.

I be back later with a more detailed review.

Thanks Fisicx - I'm grateful for this. You've already found that the dashboard itself is not mobile optimised! The hover tips are probably superfluous - if you click/tap on the item it will take you to a more detailed page which should be more helpful.

I'll look at why the email speed is poor.

I didn't know that. You probably need to tell people this.

I didn't find the pie charts very helpful (but maybe that's just me).

You seems to put a lot of emphasis on KW density when it's not at all important. It's the first thing on the page summary. Same with images, this only really matters if your images are the sort of thing to be searched for. My site is an info site so the images are irrelevant.

It says: 'Check your PPC keyword phrases consist of these words.' I don't use PPC. And the actual check is meaningless as every word on the page is a keyword.

Apparently I don't have a fast host. What does that mean? The site gets the content in front of the visitor in under 1 second and has fully loaded in under 2. How much faster does it need to be?
