I need advice on shrinking photos.

I have a sony digi cam and can place the images onto my pc, but they are huge!

When I try to send one image via email is like 2.2meg and over fill the screen.

How can I shrink the images to normal sizes

hi there

If you open the picture in adobe photoshop or something like that , you can resave it at a lower resolution

Hi Mark,

If you run into problems I can recommend Chris from www.retouchuk.com (on these forums)

I've used him recently for a number of difficult photo manipulation projects and he's come up trumps each time.

Good value too!

Take a look at the Gimp - http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Full graphics package for free!

To do the white background pics start off by doing your shots with a white background!! You can then open in GIMP and use the tools to select the area to cut. PM me for better instructions :)

Sory for the late reply, been a bit busy as of late

I would also use irfanview for resizing its fast easy and free, I use it all the time for viewing photos.

For resize just crtl + R and set it there

I just wrote a big paragraph about white backgrounds then realised Neil had just answered it, maybe better read properly next time.

Need any help just give me a shout

p.s. Thanks for the recomendation Rob

Chris.
