I plan to offer a product for sale via my web site and want to increase sales by asking others to sell it through an affiliate scheme. Can anyone recommend someone who could set this up.
Any ideas how much this will cost?

Wy do not join affiliate networks like zanox, affiliate window etc... you will get instant fully control CP, stats and sales. You can join for free.

I will do this when the site is ready. In the meantime, I need someone to set the site up to pay money to affiliates, do the necessary links etc.

There are some software packages that you can use to handle the commissions yourself.

One of them is:

http://www.idevdirect.com/

You can probably find free ones also.

However, I would recommend going with an affiliate middle-man. The two big ones are AffiliateWindow and CJ.com.

I believe you have to pay a monthly fee, plus about 1% of sales. I don't know the figures, but I know one person who was on AffiliateWindows a few years ago and they had to pay £400 / month. This is the cost for being on a large affiliate network, used by large affiliates.

There are also budget affiliate brokers like:

http://clixgalore.com/
https://www.shareasale.com/

ClixGalore is only something like £55 / year.

Before you start recruiting affiliates make sure you've done your own testing and you know your LP's/sales pages convert otherwise you'll be dead in the water
