Advertising business

OK so I have an idea on starting my own advertising business...
The idea is pretty solid, the plan seems simple enough but I am a complete novice regarding the business side of life...
What do I do regarding tax, and licencing that I may need etc.?

You might consider it wise to web-search... there's much good info available from appropriate Govt agencies.

This should then increase your general awareness and understanding, and in consequence thereof enable you to expand and clarify with more-specific questions.

Well what I was looking towards doing is begin an advertising company...
So basically I know a few farmers round my area, I was going to ask them if I would be able to set up a few billboards in there fields for a fee then sell that advertising space to local businesses...
Would I technically be a sole trader for doing this?

You would also need planning permission and also possibly permission from the county council road traffic department

Just get a copy of 'Starting a Business for Dummies' by C.Barrow. It doesn't cover everything and you could not accuse it of being a fun-read, but it will get you going.
