What do you reckon, when choosing an accountant should you bare in mind whether they are local or just web based? Do you really need an accountant that can visit you?

I don't think it matters so much now, with email and phones, everything can be done on the net and by post.

I've had 3 or 4 accountants in previous years, my current accountant is hundreds of miles away and we've still never met (I think he's a bit scared of coming to London, bless him). But he's the best I've ever had - unless he falls under a bus I doubt there will ever be a #5

I don't think it matters too much so long as you both get on and communication is good and quick.

Having said that mine is a 10 min walk from my house! :D

You should pick an accountant that lives in a holiday area, then if you have to go see them, It would be a business expense and the Tax man helps with a mini hol :D

We've tried local accountants and it's not worked out (to say the least).

We've now got a local book keeper to keep on top of the day to day things, and an accountant 'up north' somewhere too....!

Alan is very good - he even does counselling in times of stress!
