A good name for a simple 'Man & Van' service.

Hi,

I own a storage/removal/property clearance business, We are looking to set up a simple man & van service, There is only 1 other bloke who does this but the company is rough and ready!

I am looking to set up in competition with this company , but i want a whitty name or something, as i think Morris Self Storage or Morris Man & van is a bit boring and wont stick in people heads!

Any ideas on a name please? Ive been racking my head and my wifes and we cant come up with owt! :|

Is it Van And Man work you want to attract, or are you going for a more business related image? I would bear that very much in mind before you make a move.

My wife thought our 'Iam the moving man' in the style of 'i am the music man', i thought that was pretty funny!

I am unsure yet rich, i suppose it will be where the most work is? I would have thought most work will be in the domestic sector, it will really run along side our removals, but when people think fo removal they think of big lorry, 3 - 4 blokes everywhere and cost a fortune, where 'man & van' seems cheaper and would make sense rather than hiring a van. does that make sense?

I like them ideas busibod & vanman, do you do this type of work vanman or courier?

I don't do this sort of work, just fancied helping you out! Given you already have a Self Storage business, I would be looking to encompass elements of that brand into the name for your van service, people looking for self storage might be interested in the additional service (you helping them pick their stuff up), and as you are driving round in the van doing things, it is an automatic advert for the storage service too, simialr names help reinforce the brand.

Keep it simple. Assuming you are going to be doing local work you want a name people will remember.

So why not just: 'Morrises'. with the tagline 'local pick up and delivery'. It's not witty but it's simple. Imagine the conversation:

Bloke: I need a gearbox delivered.
Another bloke: Have you tried I am the moving man?
First bloke: wat?

or

Bloke: I need a gearbox delivered.
Another bloke: Have you tried Morrises?
First bloke: Got his number?

My plans have been changed a little, We was supposed to collect our luton van for this side of the business tomorrow, Spoke to him last week, we said we wanted the van. We offered to leave a deposit over the phone, but he said he didint need 1, and would save the van until 2 morro! We have just rang him to make sure everything was ok. The git has sold it over week end! You cant trust nobody now days. A mans word means nothing now days! ne way, back on autotrader!

I like 'manvan' its simple or 'storage - man - van' or the 'storage van'

How about Big VanMan - im pretty big, 6ft 6 and weight about 17stone. Plus ive got a big van! haha

I think it would stick in the minds of people. If i had a good logo made it would work on a sticker or on the back of my van.
