The Rail Union have threatened to go on strike on 21st, 23rd & 25th June, effectively a 5 day strike as trains will be in wrong places. Timed it right for the start of the summer getaway.

Is this a Labour backed stance to twist the knife into Boris?

Airport staff have also threatened to walk out.

Yep it will be car and walking for me although I was checking out the bus routes last night been a long time since i have been on one of them could be quite the experience. I hear the band are hard at rehearsals at the moment they and us have waited a long time for this

Not sure if it is correct "Well, the average base pay for a driver in the UK is actually £54,001 per year" I don't feel that a driver needs to be that "skilled" and yet they are "on the bones of their butts" - really.

According to Totaljobs, the average salary for railway jobs in general is around £45,000 - with the average rising to around £61,089

It is extremely unlikely, as it will probably backfire on the unions in the same way that the miners' strikes did under Thatcher.

Many of these potential strikers do actually have legitimate claims - but now is hardly the time to make those claims. Yes, all those workers have seen their pay diminish in purchasing power by about 20% - but they will give this collection of schoolchildren that we call a government the excuse to blame what is coming on strikes.

The economy is going to tank and it is the direct result of governmental incompetence since the 2008 banking crisis. It's been QE, followed by more QE, followed by more QE and then even more QE.

There are fuel and other shortages largely because throughout the West planning permissions for power stations, factories and refineries were not granted because of a totally misguided and mismanaged green agenda and in the UK, a totally botched Brexit.

Now this idiot government wants farmers to plant trees instead of crops - that will hardly boost food supplies!

That's what happens when governments get their marching orders from school girls and idiots who glue their faces to the M25.

I found their estimate of typical pay very funny - have you seen the adverts for railway staff, the pay is not quite as they are portraying it. I wonder if the old communist sleepers have arisen? God I hated unions back then, and while my attitude softened in the 90's to now, it's ramping back up again rapidly. Why do they assume employers can actually afford pay rises? I have not had one for 6 years myself - but that's because I'm self-employed and nobody gives a damn about anyone other than PAYE folk!

They've picked totally the wrong time for industrial action - the economy is slowing. House prices will start to fall and unemployment will rise.

All the doom and gloom warnings I have been sounding for at least two years are now becoming reality. I hate to be the one to say I told you so - but I told you so!

I bought shares in two more mines today - WXM (gold) and AXU (silver). Both are mothballed and filled with stuff, waiting for the prices for gold and silver to rise and both have excellent surveys. That's 12 I've got in the US and Canada - bring on the crash and disaster - I want to make money!
