Why a company isn’t being struck off even thought their confirmation statement is 265 days late?

Hi all I’m following a company whims confirmation statement was due in August last year but there has been no strike off or any consequence of this. The accounts are overdue by a week too. Why would companies house not strike them off? Online it says it’s a criminal offence to not supply required documents on time so why would they ignore this? Thank you

The likelihood is that they've been in contact with Companies House and had extensions authorised.

They would usually trigger an automated strike-off notice after a few months otherwise.

The extension is 30 days. And it’s only for certain circumstances such as there has been a fire and documents destroyed ect. I have no idea just find it peculiar. The confirmation statement is not far off a year overdue. Who knows thanks for the reply anyway

I've had a client in the past who managed to get some pretty lengthy extensions due to ill health, specifically cancer treatment. Not sure if that is relevant to this company, but helps as an example that it is possible to get extensions beyond the standard 30 days.

This is commonplace. I recently queried why a company called Fordstam Ltd, which is closely involved with Chelsea FC, had received no sanction even though its accounts are more than two years overdue, and despite a striking off notice having been issued in June 2023.

This is not some tinpot company. It had a turnover for y/e 2021 of over £436 million!
I received the following bland brush-off by way of reply:
The Registrar is aware that these documents are overdue and is following the appropriate process in these circumstances.  Unfortunately, I cannot disclose any more information on this subject as this would breach data protection. 

I can only assume that the people at Companies House who decide whether or not to prosecute delinquent companies are all Chelsea fans!
