Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2023...

Headington Medical, a start-up company based in Oxford is back on the road post-COVID.
We sell respiratory and critical care devices like portable and static Oxygen Concentrators used to treat COPD and asthma diseases.

We feel hard to identify potential customers and enter the NHS hospitals/trusts and private sector. We are trying our level best, however, we welcome and appreciate your views and guidance on how to enter and move in the competitive UK market...

Happy New Year to you too.

In terms of the Asthma products I would be inclined to contact relevant charities and other support organisation as they will be linked to potential customers. I was a trustee of a medical charity and we worked with suppliers all the time. They funded adverts in our magazine. We would set up events in cooperation with them.

As Mark says the NHS is tougher and you may need to find someone with experience to help you.

All NHSBSA contracts over £10,000 would need to be tendered. Have you tried searching through the portal?

Also, you are in a very regulated sector, and you will need a lot of compliance support. Have you got that in place already?

Please do reach out to disucss, if you like to.

What about selling direct? Good SEO and marketing would help a lot!

One of my clients sells a range of hospital trolleys manufactured in France and Germany. In Europe, their business has a multi-million turnover. In the UK, it is significantly less, but since I started working with them, we're hitting the million milestone. No tenders. No contracts. Just SEO and Google Ads.

As a start up, presumably you carried out huge amounts of research before you started, identified your potential market and discovered how to access it? Or not!

Hilarious. Not how commissioning works within the NHS.

Your website seems to be selling an in vitro diagnostic device, not respiratory/critical care. Putting that aside, these devices all have heavy regulatory compliance requirements. Have you sorted that out?
