Finding farmland for rent/lease?

Hey,

I need to find some farmland that is available for long term rent/lease, it is however definitely not the easiest thing to find, with any websites that actually list them costing money to just look at.

I tried emailing farm estate agents who sell land asking what the best possible option would be to find farm land to rent with no avail.

So does anyone happen to know any methods of finding farmland for rent/lease?

Water,electric - no
Road access - yes
Buildings - no
Livestock - no, for a business some work will have to be done to create a mud track on it, the lease should be 1 year renewable.

Hi We are looking for some land to rent on a long term lease in the south west england/worcestershire areas. It is for recreational activies and campsite - we want it eco friendly but need at least 10 acres. More rugged the better, trees and hills with flat at top and bottom would be good. Ideally we would like some farmer that has some spare land on his hands which we could rent for 10 years or more and maybe with a view to buy it eventually.

We are a 4 person family, both working and just want to follow our dreams however we don't have any members of the family with land.

If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

I'm in Cumbria also, but at the other end of the county to the OP. I'd have thought just putting the word out amongst local farmers, the NFU and so forth, and you should be able to find what you need.

I am in East sussex and am looking to rent land where i can keep horses (prefer with stables/or potential to put some up)

I would like it to have electricity supply (pref but not essential) water supply, for horses to graze, to rent for a long as possible, As near to hastings as possible also (Battle, Crowhurst etc).

Would prefer stables,but outbuildings with opputunity to put stables on.

If you could let me know about this i would be very greatful!

Very hard to find land to rent except on a fixed 5yr FBT, land prices are now through the roof with good land near us recently fetching £14k per acre -for farming not amenity. Mad ! The only way is to find friendly smaller farms with smaller parcels of land that are not tied into SFP or stewardship schemes, not easy, many farmers have been put off by 'undesirables' wrecking the land.Ever seen those lumps of machinery parked in gateways.

Those owners are selling up and so that is not possible any more.
I am talking to and meeting different people all the time,so will keep ears/eyes open!

hi there this is the first time using this but we are looking for land to rent anywhere in the uk ,as cheap as possible ,our aim is to have a mobile home ie caravan or two to live in ,build a couple of sheds have got live stock plus a pony .We are a middle age couple wanting to start a fresh on our own without neighbours etc this as been our dream for many years now .

I am a marquee company who is always been asked to provide a nice view and a bit of country land so they can have there special day marquee wedding on it. As with others on this thread it is very difficult to combine all the wishes of a client but even harder to find land to rent

It would be nice if some amenities were there but generators water and toilets can be brought on to site for each event

Preferbly around Rottingdean but if not near local bus stops. I would like to put one/two stables there, but on stilts so they can still be moved. If anyone could help thatl be good. Hi, just read your reply and am looking for grazing land in east sussex, near crowborough. It's for two horses so will need water. Stables if poss but if not would be happy to supply a field shelter. Needs road access and access to reasonable off road riding. Would like at least a six month let but preferably a longer term.

hi there i too am looking for land near hastings in east sussex but will take any in surrounding areas, westfield, crowhurst, three oaks or similar. we have 4 horses so would need at least 4 to 5 acres, a barn or small storage unit is a must but will look if has stables etc.. must be DIY land with some kind of water supply prefferable some kind of road access or parking somewhere. this will hopefully be a long term let if the right place but will look at whatever .

Hi there, im also looking for land/coppice of woods in Sussex to rent, for at least a 2-5yr period, it would be used for free range organic Chickens+Turkeys, only need 1-3 acres, road access/water would be advantageous but not entirely necessary, planning to set up water capture equipment an some solar gear if its agreeable, would also like to be able to set up small eco systems to benefit the birds, any advice or aid would be gratefully accepted.
