Does changing your name affect your credit score?
No, changing your name doesn’t affect your credit score at all. Your credit history is linked to your financial record, not your name. I updated my details with the banks and credit agencies and everything stayed exactly the same. I used UK Deed Poll Office for my document and had no issues.

Do you know this for sure?

I would be inclined to say it might in the short term until everything goes through and gets updated. I could be wrong and Kyle seems very confident.

Nobody knows for sure - a credit score is an algorithm that can be changed at a moments notice. Whilst a formal, properly registered change of name should have no effect on a credit score, as you suggest, there may be a period where 'invisibility' has an adverse effect
