Hello all,

First of all I would like to thank you for reading my post. I'm from Dorset, England, I'm married and own a lovely house, in a beautiful town. I have severe inattentive ADHD and dyscalulia, I don't have any education, I'm self taught in that I learnt affiliate marketing by watching YouTube tutorials back on the early 2000s.

I grew an online community many moons ago and sold it, I did very well from the company, it enabled me to invest into some property for future profits.

I've worked for myself for many years now. If I was pushed to answer what my skill sets are, I would say relationship marketing, marketing research and business development.

I've worked with some companies in the past and helped to grow them. Mostly though manual research online ie search / social media in order to get in front of the right people.

I was considering carpet cleaning but decided against it because I need to work remotely, that's due to school drop offs and pickups Monday to Friday. I guess I'm posting this to test the water and see what comes my way.

Thanks

The problem @CarpetCleaningNewbie is your skillset isn’t anything unusual. There are thousands of business consultants all offering the same thing.

Start by getting accreditation with the institutes related to your skills. Get your LinkedIn profile up to date. Start blogging about your work. Consider webinars. Use your marketing skills to sell yourself.

Or start over with something new. There are loads of opportunities in the AI industry.

I'm not at all sure what you're asking for here?

Why did you think of carpet cleaning? ( may give a guide as to what you are thinking.

It seems that you have a sellable skill, so why not focus on selling that?

One of my friends has absolutely crushed it in his town, however, I can't drive and don't want to learn due to a terrible accident I had when younger. So driving is odd the cards therefore I decided against carpet cleaning.

My biggest problems: severe inattentive ADHD and dyscalulia, I'm pretty much dyslexic when it comes to writing and spelling too.

My good points:

Can hyper focus on work, I'm an absolute workhorse when it comes to getting work tasks done. I'm good on the phone when it comes to appointment setting, and I feel like relationship marketing, marketing research are two of my better skillsets.

The problem is I'm over 40 and still don't really know what I want to do. My ADHD has been a massive burden on my life, and the dyscalulia and dyslexia haven't helped either. This isn't a pity party either, I'm just being totally transparent and honest.

My mum left when I was 5 years old, I was expelled from schools and moved to units where I wasn't taught anything. I have however learnt affiliate marketing, mostly how to rank videos and some other bits along the way.

I worked in some jobs for a while but always left for stupid reasons. I enjoyed working on the phones, setting up appointments for things like tele-communication SAAS's, and other similar jobs.

Then just keep doing this. Lots of money in affiliate marketing and there are always call centre jobs (but working from home).

So why not focus on selling those skills?

There are plenty of successful people out there with ADHD, dyslexia or whatever - they are essentially labels for a specific set of strengths and weaknesses - focus on the strengths

The issue I have currently is AI, it's made AM very difficult in regards to new limitations on platforms and even search engines. Example, search AI has reduced a large chunk of my web traffic, primarily Google.

I have kept tabs on remote call center type roles, although, for me it would need to be pretty basic ie simple CRM software, appointment setter role otherwise I get too confused.

The biggest issue comes down to hours, I do school drop-offs and pickups, so I'm available to work between 9am-2.50pm.

This is going to be a problem.

With regards AI, the search engines are just a small part of potential traffic. There are umpteen other ways to generate leads. As an example, Linkedin can be a great place to find potential clients.

You could start a YT channel on something People will watch anything all day long
There is a bloke in Wiltshire who just sits in the woods by a fire talking about old shoes and tweed jackets and google.com pay him a fortune 😳 😀😀

I have seen the Wiltshire Man Youtube channel. I must be one of those people who will watch anything!

I think a typical income from Youtube channels is about £1.50 per 1K views. Going by that, old Wiltshire Man is not doing very well. Maybe you were thinking of Kent Survival. Now he is doing fairly well as some of his videos have over 1M views

How has affiliate marketing changed that makes you want to do something different? Has it morphed into something else, or has it reached its peak and is now on the downturn? Or are there just too many people doing it to make it profitable now?

I was thinking of The Chaps Guide who I happened upon while looking for a review of an aftershave brand

I guess I'm bored of AM as I've been doing it since 2009. I understand my options are ridiculously limited though. I've always liked the idea of creating a YouTube channel, that's not a bad shout tbh. Finding a niche that hasn't already been bashed to shit is the hard part.

From the first quote above it sounds like you did well for yourself.

Perhaps you can create a YT channel telling people how you managed to be successful with ADHD and dyscalulia and how to be a self taught person like yourself.

That's an interesting idea thank you. I like the idea for helping others out, I always have. I'll write that down, thanks again.

I have an affiliate account and a landing page but have little idea on how to use either of them so would welcome a chat Have marketing access rights to a digital product that has the capacity to solve the problem of the courts being overburdened with civil cases by speeding up and simplifying resolution. through a form of blind negotiation. Had global publicity when it settled within an hour a small claim for which court mediation had failed over a period of 18 months. A licensee in France obtained investment on the French equivalent to Dragons Den (4 out of 5 dragons)

Late to the party, but I wanted to ask about what the offer was @LeeUK2025 . When you're looking to partner with another business entity or individual, it might help to share a brief idea of what you are actually offering, may that be percentage stake in whatever business is formed, percentage on sales, a salary, or... something else. I do a lot of mentoring, and the advice I give my mentees is to think of a potential partner like an investor, as they are investing time and other resources. I understand not everyone is a 'pitch deck' kind of person, but it really does help if you can outline the actual offer, particularly as I may have connections in your region of the UK who may be open to offers.
