Well I find it hard that i'd be on any spam lists as I don't send emails from this account.
As I mentioned in my other
post on spam, there are various ways that your email address could be on a spam list even if you don't use it to send any emails:
1. If it is a common address like info@ sales@ - spammers can find out about nearly every domain that has been registered, and they just add the common addresses of these domains to their spam list.
2. If it is a common email domain like btconnect, aol, yahoo, hotmail etc then spammers automatically add common names to these domains (john, fred, rachael and thousands of other first name, number, surname combinations) to create other email addresses they can spam
3. If it is an email address that you use for incoming mail, then you might have mentioned/publicised it on a website in a way that is easy for spam farms to extract email addresses from.
4. If you have divulged your email address to some site when registering for a service, and that site has been compromised or simply sold the email address on
5. If it is an email address that you use for incoming mail and other people have sent you email, then one of those people might have spyware or viruses on their machines which scan outlook data to add email addresses to a spam list (and/or send out spam from the PC without the owner knowing). You might even have spyware or viruses on your PC which have done this, they don't just scan email addresses in outlook you have used to send email, they can scan any mention of email addresses in outlook.
6. Alternatively, you might have a redirect in place, which redirects email sent to one address to your address. If this email address in on spam lists then it will be seen as the sender and receiver of email, but received spam email and bounce backs of sent spam email will eventually end up in your inbox sent to your email address.
