Shipping to the US and Australia

I make shelving units for shops and do quite well selling in the UK and have managed to ship to a few countries in the EU without issue. I get enquiries every few days from the US and Australia but for the life of me, I cannot find a courier that is economical enough to make shipping feasible.

I basically have 2 sizes of units which are -

60cm x 50cm x 10cm - 4kg in weight
98cm x 80cm x 10cm - 9kg in weight

Sometimes the smaller units sell in 2's and 3's so that needs to be accounted for. Anybody got any ideas?

Perhaps you can rent a warehouse in locally US and Australia

Your other option would be to appoint a distributor in each of the countries who could import and hold stock of your products, before selling and sending to customers locally. It would make a cost saving on the shipping, and also reduce the delivery times.

Try a fulfilment service in the country concerned then ship over a pallet of the things (or multiple boxes) then when a customer orders the local company ships it out and charges you a fee.
Often quicker and overall cheaper than shipping individual items.

I'm curious: Is your product competitive enough that the customer is willing to absorb the extra cost of shipping? What happens when you send the enquiries a quote, including shipping?
