Hi, I have been retouching images for people for years and I now have clients who are willing to pay, I am 16 so have no experience of online retail. I have an under 18 current account, how can people pay money into it? Also what details do I need to give them? Thank you for any help

Ok try not to think of it as a complicated thing like BACS.

Just create a template email or some other form of communication that you can send to clients that lists your name, your sort code and your account number.

Those are the details that are required to make a bank transfer.

Try not to think of this as BACS. Try thinking of it as a direct bank transfer. My customers got confused when I called it BACS. You supply your client the bank account name (not normally required), the sort code and the usually 8 digit account number. They use this information in their online banking and pay you the money. they can also go to their branch and make the payment using the same details. You check you have received the payment again using your online banking, or you phone/visit your branch.

I am unsure of what security you get especially if the incorrect information is added when they make a payment. I do know that as far as I am aware, the payment cannot be reversed should there be a problem, unlike a chargeback on a credit card.

Not sure it is a good idea to be sending bank details in an email.

You need to be oven 18 to open a Nochex account, it might be the same for PayPal. So you would need to get someone over the age of 18 to apply for an account that they could operate on your behalf. That would be a secure way to accept card payments.

Yep just give them your sort code and account number in an invoice, people can only pay you with these numbers if this information is stolen then no one can buy anything with them so its fine to send in an email.

Set up an account on 'wave accounting' and you can easily invoice your clients and they can pay you through bank transfer with your details enclosed on the invoice. I use it and it's really simple and easy to use.

You could use BoxBilling and then supply clients your bank details for BACS, alternatively you could ask a Parent/Guardian if they would setup a PayPal account or similar for you (if they require a 18+ account holder).

Nowadays, there are a lot of ways to get paid in any country. There is wire transfer, local bank accounts, etc. In order for you to understand more clearly about those methods of paying, you could read and study this post: http://biz30.timedoctor.com/payonee...stern-union-how-to-pay-anyone-in-any-country/

I hope you'll find it helpful. :)

From a PCI compliance angle you do not want credit card info email to you! you must look at either a payment page for credit card transactions. A merchant account facility could pay monies to a nominated bank account. Due to age and your credit history merchant accounts can be made to fit almost every need

Hope that helps a little

Best wishes
