Help with funding for shop

Hi, I have applied for funding to help pay the 1st quarter rent on my new shop, to get it I need 500 votes, which is actually turning out to be pretty hard going!

The money is paid via paypal....wonder if they deduct their normal fees?

Not a bad business idea...encourage people, maybe many desperate, to apply for up to £500 then contact potential website advertisers with guarantees of all those clicks....nice one (and flog books into the bargain)

Well done! There's no harm in seeking out some no strings attached funding! At the beginning, I'm sure every little will help!

There are some kinda cheating websites to ask for votes; essentially supporting other people with 'likes' and 'votes' in exchange for them doing the same. Could bump up your votes pretty quick!

How is the competition? Had a little look on and it seems like a hard to navigate UI, with very little voting activity!

People on this forum are sceptical of most things (Myself included). We believe it is better to tear an idea to shreds to work out any flaws in the idea and will help when those flaws are identified rather than say 'Yes, everything is fantastic, be on your way.'

I've voted! I think its a good idea, post a few links on twitter, facebook, forums etc and ask people to vote. Worst that could happen, you dont get a penny, but if all goes to plan you get £500 towards the costs for your shop. Am I missing something? I cant see a flaw in that plan

If that was the case then it's probably better if you take people's comments on board but do not become downhearted at them, but try to draw positives from what people say.

Rude? You haven't seen me after someones tried to sell me something on the phone. Children weep in the street and lions hide in cupboards.

I just don't understand the concept behind wanting the £500 e.g. if it was £500 to develop a prototype for a new product or perhaps you needed a new DSLR Camera for product photos or whatever, I can understand that.

I just don't understand the £500 to pay towards someones rent, the money goes to the landlord, I'd rather give the £500 to YOU!

All money is good money and every penny you can get will help with something. I admit to being confused that the site sems to be based around people voting for each other to get their money but hey ! everyone wins so who am I to knock it ?
