Hi, Has anybody advertised their business on their Cars or Leased out Vehicles or is thinking or doing so?
Yes I do. Customers regularly tell me they found the shop via the website via the car. It's the most cost effective way of advertising. Or they say, you drive a red mini don't you, when they come into the shop so they have obviously noticed it.
You have to be careful how you drive though in case your inconsiderate driving reflects badly on your business and vice versa !! I tend to let people in a lot so they notice my car!

I have my details on the back windscreen, as I travel a lot and am often parked up around town. I have even be stopped at traffic lights before for a business card!
The car does get noticed a lot, but you do have to be careful how you drive, as deniser quite rightly points out!

Our current website is www.testaplug.co.uk and www.derbybouncycastlerental.co.uk . I dont have a website for the car magnets or other stationary........ yet. It will be here soon! We have our car with advertisements on it, and the best thing about it is - we hit a target in the business and was given it for free.

I am very interested in this idea. I have spoken to people in the past who have advertised on cars and felt it did not work but the responce on here seems that it does work, so this is something I may look into again.
I have heard about these plates that you can fix to your car via a magnet and take off again when not needed, does anyone know how much they are

Hi
I use car magnets from vistaprint, which you can get 2 reasonable large size for less than £20. There are a number of advantages to car magnets:
1) They are cheap
2) Because they are cheap, you can easily get new ones for a special promotion.
3) You can take them off very easily, obviously this is advantageous when selling the car.
4) They do work. In effect for most people if they get one customer from it, then it pays for itself.
5) As an alternative idea, you could in theory give out "free" magnets to your existing or new customers as part of a new "profit sharing" promotion. Long story short, each customer who agrees to display a small magnet on their car will get a share of "a dividend" each time a new customer responds to one of the magnets. If the customer states that they saw the magnet on, say a blue fiesta in Townsville, then if the owner can be identified, they will get X amount, and all others (to keep them advertising) will get Y.
So here is an example. Let us say you have 20 cars with your magnet (about £10 each for a dinner plate size, anything bigger would put them off, and of course this £10 is paid for from the money they paid you as a customer anyway). Because of a response to your magnet, it gets you £500 worth of work. You decide what percentage of this goes to the "dividend", let us say 10%. So that's £50, and if the car is identified, the owner gets 20% and the rest shared with the other 19 cars. If the owner is not identified, then everyone gets an equal share. So the lowest each person would get would be £2 per customer, even if it wasn't even their car that got the work.
May not sound much, but if it attracts 50 customers from 20 cars, then each person will receive a minimum of £100. Obviously after one month, each of the dividend participants must supply evidence that the magnet is on their car. This can be done by either spot checks (not easy) or for them to provide 2 pieces of photographic evidence when requested.

We paid about £80 for 4, including the design - as seen in the Porsche picture above.
Slightly funny story - we order 2 for each car, but it wasn't until after we got them that we found out that a lot of the Challenge Stradale is made from aluminium! especially the doors! - Doh! they stick well to the tin Porsche though - even at serious 3 figure speeds (track day)

I think the Fiat works really well - advertising a design company with a catchy design.
Are some industries better suited to this form of advertising, and are some cars better to advertise on / more suited to the product.
Like the idea of advertising posh stuff / finance on a porsche (sorry, couldn't quite read the ad from the pic)

Hi Kevin,
No probs. Local company charged just under £200 for the graphics. The car was bought solely for business and signwriting purposes, although when it arrived on March 1st all shiney and priddy i found it hard to do!
Choice of car was down to appeal, running costs, and my love of italian cars!
