Search Engine Visits

My website has only been visable on the www since 21st January 2008

In my statistics, over the last week, it lists that the following Robots/Spiders have visited;

Yahoo Slurp
Ask Jeeves
Google Adsense
Googlebot
Netcraft

Is this a good sign, or does it mean nothing at all?

Also, how did these Robots/Spiders find my site, as it has not been advertised anywhere?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

If you say that the website is visible since 21st January, it is good that you were identified by these search websites.

For this time, I would suggest that do not submit the website yet to the search engines, instead develop some connects to the website. This is because, Google has just updated the algorithms, and if you are identified by Google with lesser connects it might grade you accordingly and you would have the same grade till the next algorithm revision.
Put in some efforts to socialize the site and submit it when you have some credibility to show.

Say around 2 months.

I actually chuckled reading your post, no offence, you know these are bots... randomly checking sites. That is why there is a saying that do not pay people to submit your site into search engines, because they eventually find, even if you are not advertising anywhere.

It's actually what bot does..

Some people really wants google and other bots to see them right away, and your site was indexed quickly and you were worried :) Don't worry mate, it's all good.

Just my 2 cents :)
