Tiger + EKM any alternatives?

Hi from a newbie.

EKM ecommerce have taken over Tiger.

Initially it looks like EKM are offering a worse deal at extra cost than Tiger was giving me.
So, what else is out there?

I was paying £18 monthly with tiger for a relatively easy to manage web based shop. I've two shops to relocate.

Have you asked ekmPowershop if they can match the pricing for you? I understand they are offering a migration service so even though it is a few pounds extra a month it might work out easier in the long run as it might not be as straight forward to migrate to other carts.

That said, there are plenty of shopping carts you could consider as an alternative and we have a fairly comprehensive list on our website so you can look at a few for comparison and see what best suits your needs. See the list here.

There is a range of feedback, on both our own forums and some popular 3rd party forums, from customers who have transferred across. Search on Google for "bluepark" followed by either of the competitors you have mentioned above.

Have you looked at magento? Possibly not the easiest to use, but google "cart 2 cart" for a service that will let you migrate between carts easily.

how many of those merchants spent money setting up a tiger store to migrate away from ekm - there a plenty of alternatives you might also like to check out http://www.easywebstore.net

This is a flippin disaster. The Tiger platform was brilliant and at a great monthly price. For them to sell out to EKM is just unbelievable.

I for one am now left in the position of trying to find an alternative as I find the EKM platform is carp and not user friendly for non techies.

I'm finding the same. The switchover from Tiger to EKM is just one big headache.
Longer term I'll switch to Opencart via my web hosting, but for now I've got to sort out this EKM mess.

One of the other issues with EKM is that they don't offer a decent trial period. You can log in and mess around with it but once you close your browser you have to start all over again. The Tiger shop at least gave you 14 days to trial at your leisure and see if the software was suitable in all areas.

... and another thing, EKM charge you £25 to use your domain name with the shop. Tiger never did that

EKM customer service is very poor - since taking over from Tiger Commerce our website has been down for a week and trying to get it fixed is impossible.

Thanks for the alternative suggestions, I will be reviewing them as a matter of urgency!
