I am not operating as a company and so it doesn't apply. There are other factors that also need to apply before even a firm needs to be authorised:-

I'm not sure what you mean about being a firm. My understanding is it applies to individuals as well.

I'm just concerned about the OP reading bad advice on a forum, following it and getting into trouble which could affect his mental health. He doesn't sound like he's in a good place right now. I've been where he is, and it nearly killed me, literally.

That's not what the regulations state and wouldn't make sense if it did as it would bar even friends or the pub landlord from giving each other debt counselling advice!

I echo your comment. It is because contributors have had to deal with similar experiences that we are able to provide suggestions from our personal business experience.
