I have not heard of them.

Which absolutely does not mean they are bad! I have not heard of the majority of web building companies! And having suffered myself at the hands of a thread like this one, would sound a note of caution.

If you want to really do some due diligence on them, meet them. Talk to them. Establish that they will do exactly what you want and need. Look at their reference work. Look at their own website. Form your own opinion.

They are an appaling company. You will be forced to sign off on a layout with no control over the finished product. The site will not be registered in your name, they will only communicate by email, they will charge your for every little change and even more to release you from their hosting package. Even if the site is delivered broken they won't fix it unless you pay.

WebcreationUK are pants.

There have been a few threads recently if I remember rightly with people who were not happy with them at all. Try doing a search on here and see what threads you come up with.

I found a review site where they were given 3 out of 5, bad communication apparently.
And most of their designers are based in India, according to the moans.
I will move on, since there were only 2 sites in their portfolio that I liked.

Bit difficult to meet them, it is email only, apparently because the designers are not UK based.

I have decided not to use them now. I too have been burnt by web designers in the past. I know that extremely cheap or uber-expensive does not gurantee anything.
However I am not the CEO of Debenhams so I will not take the other offer that I received on friday for almost £5000 for a site, even though I really like the designers portfolio.

I am quoting myself, quite sad.

But I did not read all the posts above before posting, consider me warned.
Thanks all.
And thanks to those who sent PM's.

We were looking to upgrade and refresh our website and after telephoning a number of companies we were impressed by what we heard from Web Creation UK Ltd. They have certainly lived up to their promises. From the initial consultation, through the design, development and test stage their response, professionalism and knowledge has left us in no doubt they were the right people for the job. We would have no hesitation in recommending Web Creation UK Ltd.

Hello,

www.webcreationuk.com are quoting £1195 for shop creation has anyone heard of them or used them?
Good or bad?

I came across them by accident whilst searching for something else.

There does not appear to be a demo online to try, unless my eyes are deceiving me.

I can't comment on the company (never heard of them - although I agree in principle with Paul Norman's comments above), but am more than happy to give you my opinion on their quote (and of course a counter-quote - can't be 100% altruistic! :D) - just PM me if you like.

Make sure you do get more than one quote (unless you find a provider you really love and are desperate to work with), whatever happens.

Do you really think anyone is going to believe this post? A new member joining out of the blue and their first post is to defend a company with such a poor reputation there.

One post, joining to sing WCU's praises? You don't come across as genuine and we're not fooled. Nice try.

I'm sure having giving such a glowing testimonial you'll promptly correct the rather striking oversight of forgetting to put the URL of the shop they built for you here?

Otherwise I know the cynical bunch here will probably come to some conspiratorial conclusion that as a one-time poster you are some kind of sock-puppet.

And posting at 6am in the morning - that IS dedication. Or is that late afternoon in India :) ?

I tried to get a website developed by them and never got it.

They are just a joke, never deliver and all they send is wrong.

Stay away from them. STAY WELL AWAY FROM WEBCREATIONUK

Very bad service, very bad. I have to take them to courts. Very bad experience.

This company are to be avoided at all costs. They are a joke. They cannot understand simple requests, take months not the quoted 6 weeks to produce a functioning site without basic errors and layout issues and produce nothing like the sample sites they have on their website.

We spent 100s of wasted hours with this company, the results were very disappointing and we even had to move the site to a new host as it was so slow it was unserviceable. They charged us for this too.

DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES !!!!!

I gained a client because of the terrible experience he had with webcreationuk

After a year he still hadn't received his ecommerce site. What others here have stated - they use Indian labour and will only communicate via email.

They must have a fair bit of cash though as they spend a lot of money on Adwords

Yes, I would stay away - I have heard from someone else a few months back that they outsource all the work to India.

If you want professionals stick with designers on this forum and put the project out for tender on here. Also good to keep the work in the UK!

    Good luck!:)

Having read all these posts about WebCreation UK, I convinced the charity I'm involved with, not to employ them and am instead inviting companies on here, as suggested by gavcooper, to offer their services and give us a decent quote. Basically the website www dot psg dot org dot uk needs a complete revamp, including a new logo, colour scheme, everything really. We'd like a 4 or 5 page website, we are meeting tomorrow (19 Oct) to go through the finer details but I wanted to see if there is any interest on here and roughly how much a quote would be.
PSG is a charity, not a business so a simple website where you can see information about PSG, a calendar of events, contact the organisation and donate to them would be enough. We need this designed and up and running as soon as possible as, as you can see, the current website is dire.
I have looked at the portfolios of some of the companies on here so am more interested in how you would approach this project, a timescale and an idea of cost. I hope to receive your tender for this project soon.

the problem with the UK web developers is that they outsource almost all work to India, Taiwan etc. With a little bit research you can find end web developers and do it yourself for much cheaper price to pay.

Bit of a rash statement, all the web devs I know don't outsource any work to India etc.

There will be some that do, and it will be the same in any industry, it's outsourced to save costs.

thats the point, outsourced to save costs! all to do is just to polish end result and hand over to UK clients...
A very sweeping statement with little to back it up I am guessing. The majority I know of do not outsource to countries like India but instead work closely with freelancers that they have established working relationships with in the UK.

Ive heard alot of good and bad reviews on them. However I sometimes exchange messages with them on Twitter and the UK staff are very friendly but I can't comment on their work.

I seem to recall their SEO services been ok, they rank well in google for most major web design keywords and I think they launch at least 2 or 3 new websites per day based on their twitter feed.

I often find with the UK, people generally report on the bad experiences and not always the good without been asked.

Im not defending anyone by the way as Ive not personally had experience with web design companies (apart from myself).

well... the obvious response from you guys designers will be to reject that fact of course, i understand that, as long as you deliver satisfactory results to your clients i have nothing against that, its your business...surely it would be wrong to claim that all designers outsource their work...

    Hi all,
Unfortunately we didn't read this post before handing over funds to WebCreationUK and letting them p**s it up a wall for the last 3.5 months. We have given them until tomorrow to sort things out but its looking unlikely. Their indian designer hasn't really done anything since the beginning of august and I don't even know who he/she is as well seem to communicate through an interpreator.

Either way, wouldn't reccommend them one iota! But we do still need a website built and here would seem look a good place to advertise the business.

I need a web designer with some creative flare to design an recruitment agency website which needs to integrate with our in-house database to keep content live and updated. Needs to have a modern feel but not too much flash because of the google ranking.

Oh and we need a pretty fast turnaround. If you think you can help, please drop me an e-mail. Site probably 13 pages plus.

Totally agree with you. Webcreation ARE THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH! Anyone reading this - PLEASE SHOP AROUND IF YOU WANT A QUALITY PRODUCT WITH THE PROSPECT OF ACTUALLY TALKING TO SOMEONE EITHER ON THE PHONE OR FACE TO FACE. I speak from experience. They are awful and my sites been on for 5 months, Ive had nothing but trouble and its STILL not working.
Anyone who says theyre good, either work for them or have not ordered an ecommerce site.
I'm fuming with them and wish I'd shopped around and taken time to read reveiws.

I have spent the last 10 months trying to get my website up and running with web creation uk.
The initial design I wanted was not what I ended up with.
The designers are from india, they do not listen to you.
They make a lot of basic spelling errors and mistakes, that you keep having to repeat, again and again and again until it is sorted.
I have aged over the last year trying to get this site built and live.
Once live it did not work and still does not, over a month later, couldn't do payments on the site, so customers have not been able to use it.
They claim to have had a senior engineer working on it and it still isn't working.
I have spoken to Consumer Direct found through Trading Standards who have given me some very good advice regarding sorting this issue out.
I really would not recommend using this company, they do not deliver what they say they will, do not care if your business suffers due to website not working.
They state they will try and work to a finish date if its reasonable, i missed two deadlines for completion.
The developers do not keep you informed of what is happening, ignore questions you may have, if they dont want to answer them.
I have read some very disturbing things regarding this company not mending broken links, leaving a site unfinished and even someone taking them to court.
Looking back now in hindsight, I wish I had done more research. If I had I wouldn't have used them.
If anyone else has had a bad experience with this company I would love to hear from you, as after having sought professional advice, I feel that if things are not resolved with this company I now know how to take things further.
