    Hey,

anyone here using youtube to generate brand awareness?

Had 2 youtube short videos now blocked due to copyright because of the audio track? The audio track was selected from youtube's audio library when uploading.

Apparently it's something to do with the youtube short is longer than the audio track?

Not sure if anyone has experience with this?

Using something that is on the YT platform does not necessarily mean you have the licence to use it in a video.

Use a royalty free track or get AI to write you something!

The AI option is a good one :D

It is frustrating that when uploading a short from your phone the songs in the audio option are even listed to add to your short if that's the case.

I asked the AI (Claude) why a track from the yt audio library would incur a copyright strike and got this reply:

That's frustrating but unfortunately not uncommon. Here are the likely causes:

    1. Content ID False PositiveYouTube's automated system sometimes misidentifies Audio Library tracks as copyrighted music, especially if:

    • The track sounds similar to a copyrighted song
    • The track contains samples or elements that match something in Content ID
    • There's a glitch in the system

    2. Track Status ChangedOccasionally, tracks are removed from the Audio Library retroactively due to licensing disputes. If you used it before removal, it might now be flagged.

    3. Attribution RequiredSome Audio Library tracks require attribution. While this usually triggers a claim (not a block), in rare cases it can cause issues.

    4. Mixed Audio SourcesIf your Short has other audio (background noise, talking, sound effects) that wasn't from the Audio Library, that could trigger the flag.

    To resolve it:

    1. Check the copyright claim details - See exactly what's being claimed and by whom
    2. Appeal it - If you're certain it's from YouTube Audio Library, dispute the claim with evidence (screenshot of the track in Audio Library, download date)
    3. Try a different track - Some Audio Library tracks are more "problematic" than others
    4. Check if the track still exists - Search for it in the Audio Library to confirm it's still available

Content ID is notoriously over-aggressive with Shorts. If you're certain you used an Audio Library track, definitely dispute it - YouTube should remove the claim once verified.

I believe OP is referring to audio provided by Youtube that is licensed for free use in videos:
