Does anyone here use webflow for their company website?

What have your experiences been like so far

I want to know about its performance and any issues you may have experienced using webflow, not so much the design building aspect

Tried it and didn't like it. It's a decent enough tool but nothing special.

If you want to do any sort of custom code it becomes a real pain.

Self hosting isn't possible which is the biggest drawback. You can export your site but all updates have to be done on webflow. You then export again and upload to your server. Which is a pain if you do regular updates.

I have little experience with these things, but it seems to me that this is becoming a common business model.

They look okay for quick startups, hobbyists, etc., but designers and DIY people should think ahead when using these platforms. For example, one day the business will probably need to develop their initial website, and that such a platform might no longer be their best option. They would therefore need to move to another platform and vendor.

The business should always retain copies, specifications, etc. of everything possible: code, data, resources, website copy, images, sketches, designs, layouts, diagrams, etc.. This will enable them to move everything to another platform at a moment's notice with a minimum of fuss.

And never assume that any particular supplier or salesman will make it easy for you to retrieve any of your website material.

    Hello JamaC

Yes! I have two years of experience using Weblow, and also know a lot of businesses using this no-code platform. I have seen a lot of businesses from the US, Canada, Australia, and The Netherlands using webflow for their website.

I have experience with WordPress, Shopify, and Wix, and for me, Webflow it been a game-changer, it's highly customizable but you will need a Webflow developer or learn how to build a website or set up a template that works for you.

They have Webflow University so, you can learn how to do everything related to building a website for your business. https://university.webflow.com/

    About performance:

One of the biggest headache relief ever for business owners or marketing teams its been Webflow, and the reason is:

Webflow doesn't need a hundred apps like Shopify or a thousand plugins like WordPress, you can create everything in Webflow. I have seen so many company websites that have loading problems, missing jave script codes all around, and a crazy disaster on their CMS (usually wordpress or shopify), all these problems because of the unstalled apps or unupdated plogins. When you have a clean code website, with no chaos on the CMS, you will perfomance better in every aspect. Of course, if you have a Shopify expert or wordpress master in house, you can also save yourself from this headache.

Standards websites developed on webflow have a really good loading speed, and also they have no problem ranking with a proper SEO strategy. And if you want a unique highly designed website to stand out, then webflow is the way to go. In my experience, business owners usually don't have problems with weblfow websites, they usually stand out because of the well-designed website.

If you have someone to build your webflow website for you, then you can make changes by yourself, like product pictures, SEO descriptions, blogs, headlines, banners, etc. You don't need a webflow specialist for easy changes.

Sometimes Webflow freelancers can be expensive, most of them operate with American businesses because they are based in America, but I know a Spanish agency that offers webflow websites for an affordable price, I have worked with them in the past, and they are really good! https://www.zolutionsociety.com/

I hope this info could give you some insight into what you need, good luck!

@Beautinow - I’m a bit confused. Your site is Shopify not webflow (also really slow).

A good Wordpress developer will use as few plugins as possible along with the right theme. Which means you will get a fast and uncluttered site. So no real difference to using a webflow developer.

@fisicx - Yes! You are completely right, @Beautinow is operating on Shopify! I would love to manage an e-commerce store on Webflow, It will give us a customization and user experience level that would stand out! (This is because I know how to build on Webflow) But those decisions don't rely on me! :)

I was talking about my experienced working and getting to know businesses that use Webflow! And, yes, you are also right, I said it in the last post: "if you have a Shopify expert or wordpress master in-house, you can also save yourself from this headache" A good Wordpress builder can do incredible work!

I have done a lot of research about no-code tools, and also I have attended the Ad World 2021 (https://adworldconference.com/) and Webflow Conference, This have gave a deep understanding of the no-code market and what webflow is capable, take a look at some webflow sites, they run and look amazing!

I believe that deciding between a webflow or wordpress specialist depends of the business needs and goals!

Have little experience with Webflow, WordPress, Wix.

Webflow is a great tool for people who are design oriented. People with a basic knowledge of coding since it helps go fast. From what I know, Webflow is poor (but possible if done by a pro) at handling heavy functionalities such as membership sites, e-commerce, etc.

If your goal is to have a site of that nature? I'll highly recommend you get a WordPress site unless you have money to add in third-party services such as MemberStack to manage a membership website.

Overall I will say, Webflow is a great tool for landing pages and simple websites since you get 100% control over the design.

    hope it helps.

    Hey,
Yeah I designed and developed the website for a luxury kitchen company (and did the photography :D ) - crabtreeandhargreeves ( not my company,no affiliation, I actually wouldn't reccomend them ).

This is made using webflow exclusively.

It's great for like 85% of things and the other 15% is for real tailored websites with really unique behavour.

I would say that I didn't have much design experience going in, but I did have free time and I used that to study both photography and graphic design so you might want to consider hiring someone if you do not feel you either have the design skills or do not have the time to learn it.

    Best of luck
