What is the best way to get into a You Tube business. I want to record myself speaking. I've got some subject ideas I could talk about. What is the best way to start? Are there video courses, and if so what are the best ones to start with?

How is this a business?

there are millions of videos on YouTube of people speaking. None of them make any money.

In any case, you don’t need a course, you just need a camera and a script.

Few tips to start a business with YouTube:

1. Create a YouTube Channel related to your business
2. Research keywords
3. Know about competition
4. Plan your content strategy
5. Create a catchy video about a topic
6. Share accordingly with a relevant hashtag and unique description

Don't fill the first three quarters of the video, with talking about how clever you are and stupid basic things like "take care when opening the box with a sharp knife"

Give each video a number as well as a description so people know what order they were made in especially if you start with the basics and move forward into advance info on the subject

Don't fool yourself you will make money, or use Vimeo where you can charge customers to watch something like https://vimeo.com/ondemand/armitageleather, unfortunately you need a number of video's to make it work and also have to market them

I'll give you a tip. Go and watch the first ever Joe Rogan podcast on YouTube. It's terrible. Now he has the most popular podcast in the world and makes an estimated $10m per year.

The moral of the story is, just start. Don't worry about faffing about, as no matter how many videos you watch or "how to" guides you read, your first few efforts will be awful. The learning curve is very steer and you will quickly work out what works and what doesn't.

Once you've got the experience of a few videos under your belt, then you can worry about strategies, marketing, competition etc.

    This, above all things, this.

I can't tell you how many craft videos I have watched just full of this stuff. I turn them off after a few minutes and give them a thumbs down. Or the, let me tell you a bit about myself... why, I don't care about you I came to watch the 'how to'.

Youtube wont pay you or let you even join their scheme, unless you have already made successful videos, then you can join to try earn something.

Cat videos as suggested could get someone to the entry level to join

But dont think its easy, there are millions of people trying, many appear to be in a certain age range and many had money to give away free crap to get others to try win it, or they already know people

If adding music, just use instruments, dont use heavy metal or anything with screaming or clashing, as people want to hear what the video is about without some screamy craphead 10* louder than your voice

Like a guy called c furze?? I think his name is, his videos are nuts, and so weird and incredible. But he adds the most terrible music, so i just turn the sound off and watch it, for example he made a life size tie fighter from star wars, sadly its about advertising with a scum bag auction site, but the things he creates can be quite amazing, just a shame his music choice can be so bad you turn off the video or skip to the end.

If you do get adverts, be selective, dont add them every minute, dont spam with crap from AmazNoNon or many other annoying ads, try find something thats actually to do with what you want to do...

If you are talking about a tool shop, dont advertise a bakery

You might find your window, you might not, it might take a few tries.

Get good quality camera, good mic, and test a few things out, do a bit of editing, test different music etc and logos, dont put too many

Be yourself, have a good time, and people might like you, or whatever your doing, even if cat videos, dont steal ideas, dont just copy another video, try create, try be you.
