Would you mind taking a look at my website please?

HI all,

would you mind taking a look at my website and giving me some constructive criticism?

I did it using Squarespace, the platform seems to work for what we do but I haven't updated it since 2014.
It comes up on google searches no problem , I do get a decent amount of visitors but I have had feedback that it doesn't always display well.

We do sell a small amount of product but that's not really the focus of the site, it's more a landing point/ introduction tool for our company I think, a place to showcase what we do.
I'm considering disabling the sales side as we only really did that to allow small customers to purchase using a credit card rather than by invoice.

Any comments would be gratefully received, I'm not a web site expert at all so happy to listen to all views.

This is the link: http://www.hctechnicalcoatings.co.uk/

1. Change the colour to black on white.
2. Bin the change of address bar at the top
3. Make the homepage examples of your work/products (no need to welcome anyone to the site).
4. On this page http://www.hctechnicalcoatings.co.uk/services/ each service should link to an new page with details of the service, lots of images and testimonials.
5. Update your contact page - it still has the old address
6. Do you actually sell anything via the shop?
7. Change it from 'blog' to 'case studies'. These are some of the most important pages on the site so you need to be updating them everytime you do a job.

You have a very specialised and niche service so I doubt anyone will find you by chance - you are only ever going to get visitors wanting help so you need to show then what you can do and give them an easy way to get in contact.

As @fisic says definately change background to white, font to black or near black. Also increase the general font a touch in size to say 15px and use a sans-sefif font like Open Sans to make it more readable.

At the top there is a very small image - bin that it just looks silly.

Thank you so much, absolutely fantastic feedback.

Re point 6, we do sell through the website but only a tiny proportion of our sales overall. It's more for very small end users who were asking to pay via card rather than account and invoice. It's also handy for customers who don't have enough credit to have an account with us but can pay up front.

I do think it's probably worth reducing that page though as it costs more in admin to deal with the enquiries looking for export (which we don't provide) than we make through web sales.

We currently get around 400 individual visits per month and get around 20 solid enquiries followng on from that.

I'll start working through the changes you've suggested. Thanks once again, much appreciated!

Rather than write it all out I screen-shotted your website and made some edits in Photoshop.
