Hey,

So our Holiday year starts in January and ends in December - However an employee started in May and will now be leaving early July - How would I work out if they have earned any holiday entitlement?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Bakedplan,

You need to determine if the employee has done, or will do, any work between May & early July. If so, they've earned holiday entitlement.

(The actual amount of holiday will be based on your contract terms, but if they've worked, they'll have earned holiday entitlement.)

Hey Karl,

They're employed on 33 hours a week and have worked almost every day since being employed to the final employment date.

Cheers.

Work out the number of hours actually worked, multiply by 12.07% and that is the number of hours of paid holiday they are entitled to. Did they get paid holiday for the May bank holiday? You can either require they take their holiday before they leave or ay them on termination. They accrue holiday while on holiday so the figures are the same whichever happens.
