However an employee started in May and will now be leaving early July - How would I work out if they have earned any holiday entitlement?
You need to determine if the employee has done, or will do, any work between May & early July. If so, they've earned holiday entitlement.
(The actual amount of holiday will be based on your contract terms, but if they've worked, they'll have earned holiday entitlement.)
