I worked for Pro-Direct Soccer until a month ago - I know they were expecting a 40% rise in sales. The worse hit due to the World Cup is clothing and footwear retailers.

Seriously, though, I would see an uptick in organised football leagues for children and teens. Industries that serve such leagues - those selling uniforms, for example - could expect to do well.

There we will play out of our skins and win 3 or 4 nil - best performance of any team so far in the World Cup

We will then lose on penalties in the quarter final with a key English player, possibly Gerard this year, being sent off

Funny, I was thinking the first two games are reminiscent of the first 2 games in 1986.

(Where England won 3rd game, 2nd round, then lost 2-1 to eventual winners in QF).
