Will there be trademark confusion if a brand only sounds similar to another?

For example, the word "TooCool" has been trademarked (just word without figurative mark) but another brand is "2Kool" with word and a figurative logo. Assuming both are in the same class, will there be any issues in the future just because both sound the same?

Potentially yes. Trade mark similarity is assessed by comparing the marks visually, phonetically and conceptually.
