Whois advice

Hi all

I am looking for a bit of advice please. I have main sector that i operate in but looking to expand and have just purchased an expired domain to hopefully develop. The first thing is I have registered paying for the whois privacy service so is that exactly what it says? our name can not be linked to the domain? also is there anyway of seeing the whois details of who previously owned it at all? I know this may come across as a bit leftfield but I'd like to stay completely anon for personal reasons (completely above board)

Yes, there are companies like DomainTools that track previous changes (owners / nameservers / IPs etc) and provide it to the public. But you usually have to sign up to their paid service to see the history of previous owners.

If you did not get the privacy at the time of registration and took it later (even a few minutes later) it's possible that your personal details are in the history.

clicked the privacy option at point of registering so guessing trail free then?
