Who is more influential in getting the deal signed ... a lawyer or a business manager? Some people are telling me that lawyers just draft and give legal advice, others tell me that lawyers are the holy grail because their clients share so much valuable and confidential information which they can use in order to make a deal happen or make referrals to possible leads (for their own interest : money)

On the other side, some people tell me that a business manager will carefully advice and guide you through the financial jungle and try to minimize any risks. They can also make referrals to possible leads (for their own interest: money)

I'd like to know your opinion on these two, what is your experience with deal-making?

Does not matter at all . Its down to the one that has the best skills and can win people over be more effective and get things done
Most of the long term people on here will have more influence than a young lawyer that has only been going for a year
They have lived too close to the woods to be scared of the owls :)
