Who could create a Music Magpie type website....

Hello All,

We are looking for a company/person to create a basic version of a Music Magpie type website (for a different type of product).

We've only ever had e-Com sites developed before. What time of company should we be approaching to get this developed? Standard Web Development companies?

Looking at the page source I'd guess it's a custom developed ASP .NET website and my best guess would be that it was built by a small team web agency.

Pretty much any competent web development shop could knock something like this together in a matter of weeks depending on how many features you need. You could even pay a freelancer on upwork for this kind of thing though it'd take a bit longer in this case it'd likely be much cheaper.

The complicated bit is the registration and product creation functions. Everything else is just standard website functionality.

It's not going to be cheap but it's all doable. As suggested, any decent developer could build it for you.

It's not that hard to be fair, it's the same as a normal ecommerce site but you are offering to buy the item instead of selling it e.g.

- I look for an iphone
- you display the price you want to pay
- I then add to my basket and "sell" to you.

The only difference is that you don't take any money and you pay me.

The only tricky parts would be behind the scenes which wouldn't be related to the website (initially) of payment and tracking of items).

Cost wise, you're looking at the £1500-£20k range depending on if you go with a pre-built system or a full custom build.
