Which Social Media Scheduler is best?

What social media scheduling tools(if any) do we use, recommend or stay away from.

I'm about to launch a social media scheduler targeted at people who need something straightforward and affordable to post to their LinkedIn, Twitter & FB pages. I'm looking for real-world feedback from small business owners who don't have a dedicated marketing person/team.

More than happy to speak to people who
  • do social outreach manually
  • use a free/paid tool
  • pay a freelancer
  • have any questions about the social outreach, paid social outreach
Thanks for the help in advance.

If you want the best from your SM don’t use a scheduler or any other sort of automation.

I can't agree I run multiple social media accounts and using something like Sprout or Hootsuite is a great resource for scheduling content and monitoring reach .
Your own account or accounts for clients?

If you want to do market research to inform development of a social media tool surely the time to do this is before you have developed the tool. Not when you are just about to launch it .

Absolutely, but you can never do enough. Interesting that you use multiple different tools rather than one? Which do you prefer and why?

Apart from scheduling content, monitoring reach, and assuming price, what else draws you to a specific tool?

Interesting viewpoint. Is the concern here around automation of content that isn't engaging? Not tailoring your content per platform(which makes a big difference for engagement, but takes longer).

What tools do you use to help with your SM content? Do you use something like a canva to help with visuals?

I have tried most of them and it depends on how much you want to pay.

I used Buffer most of the time but it seems to have problems with Wordpress sites, it won’t link post to products/ pages.

I have started using the free version of Agorapulse which I find is easier than Buffer but it’s quite expensive so I am not sure how long they will let me carry on with the free version.

I use multiple tools because some clients already have a preferred channel .

You can look at the various platforms to see what they offer in terms of key benefits .

And your posts could end up being outdated!
I knew someone who used a content writer to produce a months worth at a time. This would then be scheduled to post daily or whenever. The problem was they would run out of stock but still run a post promoting that item.

Both are valid points. With a simple scheduling tool, you're not going to be able to manage all of your social media engagement. There are some expensive tools that can do that kind of thing though.

I imagine the value add is being able to set up engaging content like tips, statistics and more general outreach at the start of your week or month and then have a regular stream of content keeping your social audience engaged.

When you scroll down your FB feed how much notice to take of this sort of content? When you are looking at Instagram do you care about seeing tips from random businesses?

What I take note of are offers and other promotions. These are properly curated and very current.

Also worth noting that FB and other platforms only show a fraction of the content you follow.

We're a massive fan of the SEMRush social media poster. With SEMRush you get so much more however the social media poster is a very good tool with constant updates and features allowing easier social media admin.

We use a mix of manually created content as and when, my colleague @JCBrown does this daily with different content we create each day.

We then have an account with SmarterQueue that takes a live feed from these forums of threads which can then be pushed out across several socials with ease. It does have an EverGreen feed we could use where in the past we had about 3 weeks of content looping but for the same reasons @fisicx mentioned we stopped as it wasn't working.

There are various social media scheduling tools available in the market. If you are looking for a more efficient tools to publish your social media updates on regular basis, I would recommend some tools which are shared below-
    1. Hootsuite
    2. Buffer
    3. Tweetdeck
    4. Socialpilot
    5. Coschedule
These tools help your overall social media management process, improving your efficiency so you have more time to push out great content and develop connections with your followers in real time.

I have tried Hootsuite and used Buffer for many years.

However I had problems linking to my site with Buffer and went to Agorapulse.

I have to say it is the best one of all but it is expensive €99 a month.

Unlike Buffer you can schedule and queue posts in Facebook and Instagram.

Not heard of ZOHO so may take a look.
