Where to buy Microsoft Outlook please?

Hi,

I currently use Roundcube to send e-mails. However I do not particularly find it that user friendly.
All the time I have worked in an office I used Microsoft Outlook and I would now like to use this for my own business.

Could someone recommend where I could purchase this please? I have seen all kind of quotes doing a Google search. I've seen ones for monthly/per annum or outright purchase (preferred). I already have Excel/Word/Powerpoint installed so I just need Outlook installed.

The hosting company I use said they will take me through the transfer once I have purchased Outlook.

If anyone could help that would be great.

Do you have the installation media for Microsoft Office? Outlook should be included with all business editions.

Hi Rob,

I have just got a list of places that sell it for you here and sorted it by price.

However, as Fisicx says it might be worth trying Thunderbird first as it is free and if you just want to send / receive emails it will more than do the job and you will save yourself money. You can still setup signatures and once you get used to it you won't notice much difference.

Unless you have hosted Exchange emails then it might be best for Outlook.

Just a personal thing: there is nothing wrong with Thunderbird but it is a bit klutzy compared to Outlook.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. If it's just email management it does the job just as well as outlook - and it handles attachments far better than outlook.

You can backup both Thunderbird and Firefox with a great little utility called mozbackup

I use Thunderbird. Searching is poor, it keeps freezing and Exchange support is not free, and it keeps crashing. I'd switch back to Outlook if I had a choice.

We habe to use Outlook with our crm software, ended up using office 365, costs about £7 a month, and gets us full office suite.

Fisicx - I downloaded it and liked the look of it. Have had a nightmare trying to send e-mails. The hosting provider I use said they could help me, but even the lady who tried helping me couldn't sort it out. Waiting for someone else to get back to me.

Scalloway - I must admit I only bought the Personal one 2 years ago (or so). Didn;t have the business up and running then, wish I did now!

DesignerNick - Thanks for that link. I'll wait for this 'guy' to get back to me then may have a more in-depth look at that.

Thunderbird gets my vote. It was not totally straightforward to set it up, needed a bit of manual intervention (which could be your problem) , but got there. Have used it for several years now. I have 6 or 7 email accounts all coming through to the same inbox; can also choose which of these email accounts to use for sending. Each account can be in a different colour!

And I use this as well. Saved my life. Well not exactly saved my life, but recovered everything important when I had to change computers.

Hi Rob,

You can actually have the complete Outlook and Office Suite package for free with Microsoft Office email services which I am sure you are using it anyway. I like the fact that you always get to use the latest Microsoft office package versions and you don't have to pay anything extra for the upgrades. I understand you are currently downloaded it but let me know if you know more info on how to get the free Microsoft Office suite.

is there a reason why you have not considered office 365 ? this will give you all the latest software, Lync, SharePoint OneDrive and depending on the version online Microsoft Exchange to host your emails.
