Where do you find participants to answer your market research surveys?

This is my first time posting here, not sure if this is in the right place. But I'm currently in my market research phase and would love to get answers on my market research survey. I'm considering using Survey Monkey's paid service to get a decent number of answers but would rather not to since it's an expense I can barely afford at the moment.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or were successful when going through this on your businesses?

Depends what you are selling.

Are there linkedin groups for the service you are going to sell or facebook groups for people who would buy the product you will sell.

Is there a trade show you could get advertising space at to push people to your survey

Where and how you survey depends upon what you are planning on selling to whom

There was someone outside Sainsbury’s last week doing a survey.

But as already said, it all depends on what you are selling and to whom.

Thank you! I'm selling brand identity design services. Focusing on sole traders and micro businesses. I'm not trading yet
Not really sure market research will help. Sole traders and micro business don’t have the cash to pay for these sort of services. Most won’t even be looking for something like this. They might pay someone on fiverr for a logo but that’s about it.

What you need to sell is a how you can improve their income and cut costs. If you can’t do that you will struggle to convince anyone to engage your services.

Have you done this for anyone before - if so what did they gain for what outlay ?

The only market research would be - "if i could say a brand identity raised income by £x or x% what would you be willing to pay and over what timescale ?"

If you dont have any case studies then get out network, find some people to let you work payment upon result and use them for case studies

You're entering one of the most competitive sectors. The questions you need to answer is who have you identified as your target audience. Like you many micro businesses don't always prioritise marketing services whether it's market research or brand development. So they may not be the best target for you.

And why should people buy from you, rather than one of your many competitors. What can you offer that's different/better.
