When would you rather network

Hello,

My company hosts telephone-networking events.

I'm just wondering, for those of you who go networking, do you prefer morning, afternoon or evening events?

Thanks

Tref

Morning. I've been and done the evening networking but there seems to be more energy and enthusiasm in the morning networking sessions. At evening networking sessions, its not unheard of to see drunkard individuals in the room which can be irritating!

Evening. Getting up an hour early to network - no, not awake at that time of day (Tried the BIN way but is isn't for me) and have enough on my mind for the coming day amyway - can't really justify leaving the business during the working day, so evenings are best - never seen anyone drunk at a networking even thank goodness, we have all driven to it, and alcohol isn't served at the ones I attend!

Definitely mornings, nothing better than having a good meeting where someone has passed you a lead or you have managed to get a useful connection, that then sets you up for the rest of the day.

I always seem to come back from breakfast meetings with a zest and full of energy, evenings, well to me, this is catch up time with both family and the boring bits that need doing in life - plus having a life of my own outside of work, so am very reluctant to do it.

I can see issues with both. Morning networking means I arrive at the office about 11 o clock. Not acceptable to my customers. Evening networking means I am out in the evenings. Not desirable for me.

Ok - over simplistic, but for me, the challenge is doing it at all. But it is part of marketing, and so it is. So the first thing I need to know, is how many of my target marketing network, and is it morning, or evening. And at what kind of events. Having answered that question, I will network when, and where, and if, they do.
