How do you end up in the situation where the customers dictate that a platform must be used?
It's a very good point!

I've been toying with using WhatsApp for business, my clients want it, I'm not too keen mainly because of a loss of control over how and when they can contact me.

I'm a back bedroom warrior, my phone only rings between 9-5, I rarely answer emails outside of hours, clients don't have my mobile number, clients do not visit me here.

I'm gonna roll with what I been doing all along for now, put this WhatsApp idea back on the shelf.

The client is not dictating the platform, the client is dictating how they'd like to be contacted.
Here it is landline and email only using other methods results in info, bookings and communications getting lost
It looks quite serious what you are doing there and the method of communication should reflect that importance
This might work for some but not for others, WhatsApp is more popular than you think.
What's your contingency if your WhatsApp account is knobbled...?
Not sure I understand the question, emails are a backup and why would the WhatsApp account get knobbled?

I am baffled by the semantics, here!
Apologies for not being clearer, I meant to say the client prefers a certain way of being contacted and we make sure when building the website that this method of communication is used, if I force the client to use a method of communication they're not comfortable with then most probably they will end up missing a lot more important messages.

Have you considered that they might just want to 'Miss' those important messages?

It's one of the best ways to communicate with people for quick responses.

It's surprising how little some people check their email - plus your message gets lost in a busy inbox.

SMS messaging barely being used for proper messaging any more (my SMS inbox only hs 2FA codes in it)

WhatsApp is great for 2 way communication and getting quick responses.

The main benefit for consumers (your customers) is that it is free - they don't have to worry about SMS allowances etc.
Agree with you

What tools are everyone using for WhatsApp management of a WhatsApp Business account?

Ideally need auto responders and the ability for a team of people to have access to respond to messages.
As a business owner that is dedicated to finding and using cutting-edge technology to boost our performance over our competitors in the market,
I thought I would drop this quick note about the topic in question.

I was asked by a few clients if I could integrate WhatsApp into our systems but there is not a massive demand for it however, on the other hand, we do notice that there is a lot of integration as we advance with slack. It's a great free messaging tool for businesses of all sizes.

I stopped using WhatsApp for the business communication completely as i don't feel that this messenger is safe enough. For work communication we prefer to send microsoft teams sms and live other messenger only for personal communication. It took sometimes for people to adjust to those changes but now everyone is happy with that.

I get the impression that WhatsApp is not, or at least, not readily.
It is possible to obtain a user-friendly transcript from WhatsApp and include it in a report. This is a common practice for us providing such reports to solicitors and courts. In fact, WhatsApp reports can be even more advantageous because deleted messages are flagged, making it easier to prove and verify the authenticity of the data.

In contrast, deleted emails in a conversation can be challenging to find and prove. Although it can be done by checking email server logs against actual emails, using WhatsApp for reporting purposes can provide greater transparency and validity of data.

What tools are everyone using for WhatsApp management of a WhatsApp Business account?
Whats wrong with the whatsapp desktop app with multiple user access or be a rock star and use a CRM with whatsapp API integration.

Why would a WhatsApp message get any more "lost" than an email.

And phone calls are worse, because the only trace of them is if someone then writes it up into a CRM.

That's why I am after a suitable CRM that integrates with WhatsApp so that messages can be managed properly by a team.

Just like for a separate project we have moved our email across to Help Scout to manage support enquiries across a team better than email software alone can offer.

Get the interface right, and the platform used for messaging becomes largely irrelevant.
