There's no simple answer to that......

Look up a company called Mac & Me Roasting. They've gone from being a start up and now wholesale beans and equipment, offer training and still run a small Cafe.

I have no affiliation with them but hear good stories from folk who buy their beans.

My advice on a limited samople would be avoid Cafe Society. The two we had at old day job were always causing trouble.

Surely the best machine depends on your business and purpose for what it will be used.

For example, is this to be used in the office, pub, high footfall coffee shop etc.

Is space a consideration? Will you need water filters and softeners?

I have a Bestir BM50 bean-to-cup coffee machine for sale.


I originally purchased it for the care home I own, but my business partner dropped out at the last minute, so I’m now trying to recoup my losses.

Depends what you want. If you want a Costa style machine - which I think of as being the most commercial, I think Gaggia are consistently good.

But depends if its for bean to cup, with or without milk, how many cups per day etc etc.

A high end Franke machine with a fridge will cost upwards of £15k - but that will do 200 cups per day (self service style). So depends what you want....

Got a view on volumes, barrista style, or like my kitchen - a milk-less De Longhi which is fine for 3-5 cups per day.
