What software do you use for logging sales calls?

I'm currently trialling salesforce.com, which is probably a little over-engineered for my situation.

I have tried Zoho CRM which is free for up to 3 users, but I found logging on could be a bit of a problem from time to time.

I don't know what their latest offering is like, but it may be worth looking at Goldmine. I used this years ago when I was a rep, and it was fantastic for our needs. Then again, I wasn't the one paying for it!

We use Salesforce.com as do several of our clients. I think it's a really good system and love the fact that it's all online and you don't need to install any software, etc. It's pretty straightforward to use and does everything that you need a CRM system to do. You can add contacts, accounts, keep track of tasks and status of your leads, attach files to particular contacts, (handy if you've sent them an email or letter), etc.

I've used other systems including Goldmine and ACT, but for me salesforce is by far the best I've come across.

I can supply you a tailor made customer contact system with search by name, tel, date contacted and much more.

i supply numerous businesses software for customer database, stock control, purchase and sales ledgers.

The time involved normally makes the software too expensive for one business to purchase so i supply on a monthly fee of between £10 and £50 per month depending on what level of system is required.

If you are interested, let me know more about what your needs are and i will give you an estimate.

Cheers

I supply software to business on a monthly license fee.

customer databases, mail marketing systems, stock control, accounting, order tracking.

PM me with your exact needs and i'll give you a price and arrange a demo

Most systems are between £10.00 and £60.00 a month.

i expect yours would be at the lower end.

Cheers

I can definitely recommend salesforce, we use it here and seems to be pretty good. If you want an alternative option, I can also recommend Woosabi.com - they're geared towards start-ups and entrepreneurs. I've spoken to Tony over there a few times and he's a super nice guy. 02920 555802

Hi

I use Diamonds CRM from Diamonds Software. It's like salesforce.com but easier and made so anyone can customise it to whatever they want without being skilled.

For example, once you record the call, you may want to either automatically trigger or trigger with manual intervention, a standard email, letter, brochure, you could. You can make you job much easier to do with the right tools.

What would you want to happen after you made a call?

Best

Depends on how many calls you are making, how much extra info you want to record, how many people need to access the system at the same time, how secure your system is, what you might want to do in the future, and last but not least, how much you want to spend.

Where are your phone numbers coming from? - do you need to import prospects from a list?
Are you checking against the TPS list, or is the data already clean?
Do you hold any personal info - do you comply with the Data Protection Act?
Do you want to do any follow ups? (as Jeff said)

You can tweak a custom system to do what you want - but you have to know what you want.
You'll only use 20% of an "off the shelf" system, but it might give you ideas of extra things to do.

And how are you managing people that you do want to contact again?
is this a separate system?

Whichever way you go, two golden rules:
1) make sure you can always get to the data
2) make sure you have regular automated backups
