Hey @jackanderson, not sure if i get the question but will try to answer...

Best way to track your website traffic (in my view) is

1) Define a tagging and tracking strategy (think UTM's etc) so you can always track all marketing activity without giving all your data to competitors

2) Use a solution that fits your need to see what the behaviour of your traffic is across different intents (Awareness, Interest, Desire, Action etc)

3) Potentially use a link shorteners or click tracker depending on your needs.

4) If using a Walled garden solution make sure its connected
